Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my mini-split system professionally cleaned?

Answer:

We recommend a comprehensive professional cleaning and tune-up at least once per year. For systems used year-round (heating and cooling) or in homes with heavy use, pets, or allergies, scheduling service twice per year (spring and fall) is ideal to maintain peak efficiency and air quality.

What happens if I skip professional maintenance?

Answer:

Skipping service leads to significant dirt and microbial (mold/mildew) buildup on the coil and blower wheel. This drastically reduces your system's efficiency (raising your electric bills), degrades your indoor air quality, and puts stress on components that can lead to costly breakdowns sooner than expected. 3. Why is my indoor unit leaking water?

Answer:

A water leak is typically caused by a clogged condensate drain line. Dirt, mold, and sludge can block the line, causing the condensation (water) to back up and overflow. Low refrigerant levels can also cause the indoor coil to freeze and then leak when it thaws. If cleaning the visible filters doesn't stop the leak, call us immediately.

Why does my mini-split smell musty or moldy?

Answer:

That musty or vinegar-like odor is a clear sign of microbial growth (mold and mildew) inside the unit, particularly on the evaporator coil and blower wheel. Our deep-cleaning service specifically targets and eliminates this contamination, restoring fresh, clean airflow.

Can I clean my mini-split myself?

Answer:

You can and should perform simple maintenance like cleaning the removable air filters every 4–6 weeks. However, the critical components—the blower wheel, evaporator coil, and drain pan are deep inside the unit and require specialized tools, commercial cleaners, and knowledge to clean thoroughly without damage. We handle the deep clean, so you don't have to.

What does your professional service include?

Answer:

Our certified maintenance includes:
